boy oh boy
I’ve been driving everyone here crazy with the daily and the more recent hourly countdown and I just realized that I never even mentioned it on my blog but MY BABY IS COMING HOME!!!! I will be heading into the city in the morning to anxiously await his 11am arrival at the airport. The poor kid is exhausted mentally and physically from finals and packing and prepping for his trip home and then his co-op in Indiana…not to mention the post finals hangover…but I still fully intend for him to regale me with university tales (not tails, some stuff I don’t need to know) on the trip home. He hasn’t really had a break in four months so he is looking forward to his time here nearly (but not quite!) as much as I am psyched to be able to spend a couple weeks with him.
Unfortunately (for me) I have to work a few days this week and a couple next week but fortunately (for him?) that will release him from my (s)motherly love and give him time visit some of his friends and other family. I suppose I can share him if I must.
When I asked him what he wants to do while he is home he said emphatically “Go to the lake!” and since he insisted how can I possibly deny him that wish?! For my kid I will sacrifice. I’m generous like that.
My girlfriend Jack and my brother and sil are also coming out this weekend so it should be a good time but again it means I won’t be around here much but I miss y’all and I’ll be thinking of you. For now however I must get some sleep, I have more than six hours worth of driving tomorrow and a whole lot of catching up to do.
YAY!

Oh wow Ben, I hope you enjoy the time with your son. Be careful driving this morning, and we look forward to hearing some of his “tales” when you get back.

i’m dreading the thought of my own baby moving on soon… the boy will be 18 soon – and no doubt eager to get the hell out of the nest as soon as he possibly can… think i may just go a little crazy(ier?)

He’s coming home. Yeah! I know that always makes you excited. Enjoy your time at the lake and watch out for all the squirrels.

Awesomeness! I guess you’re allowed to not be here for a few days while he’s there. After that, you better snap to it and entertain us with tales of Ben!
Have a blast!
